An Introduction of the “Fan Fun Weekend"
MC Girls for Guangdong and Sichuan

Chinese Japanese

The CBL “Fan Fun Weekend” is an event that began in 2007 and involves numerous promotions that take place before games as well as in between innings and is designed to give people who do not know very much about baseball a chance to experience the sport in a fun way.

In the Fan Fun Weekend, there are regular MC’s that lead the events and they attempt to raise the excitement of the promotions along with the crowd as well as root passionately for the home team.

We recently had the opportunity to interview Guangdong Leopards (Guangzhou) MC Miao Miao and Sichuan Dragons (Chengdu) MC (Li Jing Ya) and we asked them what they thought was the appeal of baseball and their impressions of “Fan Fun Weekend”.

What are your impressions of watching baseball?
In watching the games, I got the impression that baseball is a game that requires instant reactions and that it is a sport in which teamwork is very important. The CBL, among all of the top leagues in China, is one of the newer leagues, but after watching some games, I came to understand why baseball fans get so into it. After watching exciting play after exciting play, I came to like baseball before I knew it.

On being an MC in the “Fan Fun Weekend”
I had the pleasure of being the MC for the CBL Guangdong region this season. Through my work with this CBL event, I had the opportunity to learn about the joy of baseball and baseball overseas. I think that a sport like baseball (which is still evolving) suits young people like us. I also think that the CBL will continue to develop along with the growth of our generation.

What are your impressions of the “Eco-flag Movement"?
Starting this season, the CBL has been engaged in the “Ecoflag Movement” in an aim to promote environmental protection issues. In China, the free distribution of plastic bags became prohibited in all grocery stores beginning on June 1st. Now that China is in the global spotlight with the Olympics being held in Beijing, I believe that “Environmental Protection” will be a key phrase for the continual development of our nation. I think that the fact that the CBL has organized this type of event is very meaningful because it raises the environmental awareness not only of baseball fans but of people like myself (working for the CBL).

A message to CBL fans:
I am very happy to have had the pleasure of interacting with all of you CBL fans. Baseball in China is slowly but surely on the rise. With your support, I am sure that the day will come when Chinese baseball will match up against the top baseball leagues around the world!
