2008 CBL Schedule Determined

The game schedule for the entire 2008 China Baseball League (CBL) has been decided.

This year, with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games being in August, the CBL season will consist of the first half from April to May and the second half from September to October, and league games will continue until September 14th. The playoffs, in which the top two teams from each division face one another, will begin on September 20th, and the Championship Series will begin on October 4th.

In the Southwest/Northern China Division, the Beijing Tigers, who are looking for a strong comeback year to regain the title, and the Sichuan Dragons, who are aiming for their first playoff birth, will challenge the Tianjin Lions who won the League Championship for the second year in a row and for the third time in franchise history

In the Southeast/Eastern China Division, the Shanghai Golden Eagles, who will be led by player-manager Zhang Yu Feng starting this season, and the Jiangsu Hope Stars, who are continuing to grow talented young players, will challenge the Guangdong Leopards who were successful in advancing to the Championship Series for the second straight year.

In addition, we will be continuing the ballpark events during weekend games which were a fan favorite last season. This season, it will be called “Fan Fun Weekend” and we will be adding many more fun activities. Please check the CBL official website (below) for league games or “Fan Fun Weekend” dates.
