Chinese Olympic Team Roster Announced

　The complete roster for the Chinese Olympic team was finally announced by the Chinese Baseball Association on July 25th. The average age on the team is 26.8. The roster is filled with the best players in China, and includes 12 pitchers and 12 position players. 21 of the players on the roster are players from CBL (China Baseball League) teams such as the Beijing Tigers and Tianjin Lions. There are also 3 players from the minor league baseball team in MLB. (Table 1)

　The schedule of the games leading up to the championship game is shown on Table 2. All of the other 7 teams playing in the tournament are tough teams that have played through a preliminary round to get to this point. There is not a single game on the schedule that Team China can take lightly. Since each team will need to play a number of games in a row with a limited number of players, how the Managers use their players, and in particular, how they use their pitchers will have a strong impact on the outcome of the games.

First, let us hope that Team China will be able to get the first win in the Olympic Games through the preliminary round that begins on the August 13th. “Let’s go China!”
