But I have faith that this year's national team will play hard and do whatever they can to win the games. My hope is that their success on that spectacular stage will catch the attention of many people, which in turn will help spread baseball in China. I don't believe that Chinese people have less physical strength or have inferior brains compared to people from other countries. If we create an environment to allow small children all across the country to begin playing baseball, I have no doubt that some great baseball players will emerge in the future.
What we are doing now is to build the foundation for that. I don’t know when I will retire, but I will do my best until the time comes. It would be great if one day, when we get old, my current teammates and I could look back and reminisce on our baseball memories.
