CBL to Fly “Ecoflag” in 2008
In an age when people all over the world are becoming more environmentally conscious, CBL (Chinese Baseball League) will fly the “Ecoflag” in all official games in 2008. CBL, as the top league in the nation, aims to raise environmental awareness by taking the initiative to spread the word about environmental issues, in cooperation with as many people as possible.In consideration of such aims, CBL has formed a new partnership with GSA (*), and will promote the “Ecoflag Movement”.
* GSA (Global Sports Alliance, a specified nonprofit organization) promotes activities “to secure a healthy ecosystem for our future generations” along with sport enthusiasts worldwide, through the “Ecoflag Movement”. GSA’s Ecoflag program has also been recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
CBL will fly the “Ecoflag” in each of the stadiums and will spread the word about implementing “Ecoplay”, which considers “fair play” in athletic competitions, as well as the conservation of energy and natural resources.
In addition, CBL is planning an “Eco-event”. We will take a first step in resolving global environmental issues by having CBL players, related parties, and fans strive towards becoming “Eco-players”.
- Protect the nature which keeps our water and air clean, and protect the importance of conserving energy and natural resources.
- Seek an understanding of considerations towards reducing garbage and protecting our natural environment.
- Urge people to think about environmental issues, not only in the stadiums where CBL games take place, but also in their daily lives or in the work place.
